Alimpij hatte den Auftrag bekommen, bis zu einem bestimmten Thermin eine Marien-Ikone zu malen. Doch nach einigen Tagen erkrankte Alimpij und konnte die Ikone nicht fertigstellen.Der Auftraggeber war sehr besorgt und drängte den Kranken. Diese antwortete: "Kind, komm nicht zu mir und dränge mich nicht, sondern vertraue Deinen Kummer Gott an." Er glaubte dem Seligen und ging nach Hause.
A few days later the man came again to the holy painter and asked: "Are you ready now with the icon? I need it urgently until tomorrow!" But he saw, that Alimpij was very, very ill. "Why didn't you tell me, that you are so ill? I would have asked another painter!" Alimpij said: "O, child, you do not trust in God's will? I will die, but I am shure, you will get the icon in time."
Nach seinem Weggang aber kam jemand, ein lichter Jüngling -a lit boy came - nahm den Farbkasten und begann zu malen. Zuerst dachte Alimpij, es sei ein anderer Maler, aber er sah, daß der Jüngling so geschickt und schnell malte, und nach 3 hours the icon was ready. . And when it was evening, the angel and the icon disappeared - abends verschwand plötzlich der Engel mitsamt der Ikone. Am nächsten Tag war die Ikone an ihrem vorgesehenem Ort...next day the Icon was found on the designated place...
